2012 Honda Civic 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT

Honda Civic 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT

2012 Honda Civic 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT reborn with the quality has improved. Exit off the plastic brittle old car, and in came a soft-touch materials for the new dashboard. The digital display has also been simplified, but still looks a little busy. Excellent equipment levels, even at the base SE-trimmed car. Climate control, ECON button (which modifies the throttle response to improve the economy), stop-start and alloy wheels are all standard. Our flagship EX GT has leather upholstery on the seats are very comfortable, xenon headlights, parking camera and sat-nav.

Moving, 148bhp 2.2-liter diesel we tested was quite a narrow power band - you need to change gears quickly and often to keep accelerating - and it sounded gruffer bit stronger than the same engine from the VW and Ford. It's capable of 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds, while Honda claims 64.2mpg and 115g/km CO2 emissions, create a free road tax in the first year.

Design LED running lights add some events to the front end, but although the shape has been smoothed off and updated, split rear window was still awkward and hinder vision.

2012 Honda Civic 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT will last for a new 1.6-liter diesel, which would be more economical and have sub-100g/km CO2 emissions. This machine is due at the end of the year.

2012 Honda Civic 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT as a whole, it seems more mature. The body may not be typical but it is much more aerodynamic and, as a result, wind noise is reduced - the Civic is much more quiet at any speed.
